Sole Counsel

We are looking for a Sole Council, who support the ePayments’ business operations with the drafting and negotiation of contracts/terms&conditions. You will manage of the ePayments’ secretarial function across jurisdictions to remain compliant with local laws and regulations and support the business on all legal matters, e.g. employment, IP, and litigation.

Your responsibilities:

Serve as trusted adviser and business partner by dealing with all legal aspects of the business in a timely and commercially sound manner and providing guidance and counsel for accomplishing ePayments’ overall business objectives

Support sales, services, partnerships, product and procurement functions by developing and maintaining ePayments’ suite of template legal agreements in line with the evolving business and technology

Support the business on all legal matters by acting as point of reference, advice and escalation for all legal issues arising across the ePayments; by assisting with compliance and risk mitigation, by liaising with external counsel across the jurisdictions where the ePayments operates

Work closely with the finance function by assisting with insurance, company secretarial, business licenses queries, pension, compliance and risk mitigation

Oversight of the ePayments’ company secretarial function by liaising with the providers of company secretarial services to ensure ePayments remains compliant with local laws and regulations

We require the following from candidates:

Qualified solicitor with 6-7 years PQE and demonstrable experience in general commercial law

Experience of e-payments/financial technology/software is a distinct advantage

Ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements (including NDAs, software licensing, partnership agreements and services agreements)

Substantial decision-making ability, with a focus on helping the company achieve its strategic business objectives while managing the legal risks involved

Strong analytical skills, business awareness and the ability to apply sound commercial judgement

Confident in assessing situations, operating autonomously and taking decisions

Flexibility to react quickly, reschedule and prioritise workload

Excellent knowledge of all relevant compliance and reporting requirements

Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills

Highly organized and meticulous
